About the Role
As a Bilingual Annotator and Transcriptionist, you will play a pivotal role in improving our AI system's intelligence by transcribing, annotating, and analyzing complex audio and text data derived from customer care conversations. Your work will be instrumental in bringing our platform to new use cases and customers, ensuring its continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe conversational audio recordings with multiple speakers, varying dialects, and accents verbatim, adhering to specific transcription and annotation guidelines.
- Effectively discern and capture colloquial and cultural nuances present in the recordings, ensuring that the transcriptions are not only accurate but also contextually relevant.
- Identify, analyze, and annotate speaker intents, key words, and phrases within recordings and/or text to support named entity recognition and intent classification.
- Utilize outstanding listening skills and patience to interpret ambiguous speech, transcribing it as accurately as possible.
- Meticulously proofread and correct your own and others' transcriptions and annotations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any issues or concerns with the data, transcription rules, or annotation guidelines.
- Adapt quickly to changes in transcription and annotation rules, priorities, and work environments.
- Adhere to all security protocols and procedures to protect the sensitive nature of our data.
Essential Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Spanish (preferably Latin American Spanish).
- Exceptional bilingual written and oral communication skills, with a strong command of grammar and spelling in both languages.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- A detail-oriented approach to work, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- The ability to focus for extended periods and maintain productivity.
- Familiarity with computers and internet research, with a basic understanding of digital tools and platforms.
- A minimum commitment of 30+ hours per week, with some flexibility to accommodate changing needs.
- Availability to work on-site in our facility, ensuring the secure handling of sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress), indicating a strong educational foundation.
- Fast typing speed with high accuracy, facilitating efficient transcription and annotation.
- Previous experience in transcription and/or annotation, particularly in environments involving complex audio or text data.
- Familiarity with Mac OS, reflecting adaptability to different technological environments.
- Experience using Praat or similar linguistic analysis tools, enhancing your analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in Google Workspaces, supporting collaborative work and productivity.
