Job Summary
We're seeking friendly, customer-focused, and highly motivated individuals to join our team as Retail Store Associates and Stockers. As a Retail Store Associate and Stocker, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating our point-of-sale systems, and maintaining the appearance of our store. You'll also play a critical role in our freight flow process, including unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, and recovering damaged or lost items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers as needed to maintain the highest level of customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Point-of-Sale Operations: Maintain and operate point-of-sale systems efficiently and accurately, process transactions, and handle customer payments.
- Customer Loyalty Program: Drive customer loyalty program participation, including sign-ups and rewards processing at check-out.
- Freight Flow Process: Participate in the freight flow process, including truck unloading, stocking, merchandise presentation, and recovery.
- Furniture Department Operations: Participate in furniture department operations, including carry-outs and display assembly as needed.
- Store Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the store's interior and exterior to company standards, including light maintenance duties and cleaning.
- Front-End Maintenance: Perform daily front-end maintenance, including check stand cleanliness, replenishment of merchandise and supplies, and floor safety.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by Store Leadership, such as cart retrieval, shrink control, and safety-related tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Age: Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills required.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, and to unload freight, move product on and off of store shelves, walk, stand, bend, stoop, or kneel for long periods of time.
- Basic English Literacy and Math Skills: Basic English literacy and math skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Retail Experience: Prior retail experience preferred.
- Cash Register Experience: Previous experience operating a cash register preferred.
