Position Summary
The Chief Compliance Officer is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive, enterprise-wide Compliance Management System (CMS) tailored to the unique risks of a Sponsor Bank digital banking platform focused on money movement services and Banking-as-a-Service (BAAS).
This senior leader will operate with independence from revenue-generating functions, reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, and will drive a culture of compliance and regulatory adherence while balancing business innovation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Program Leadership & Strategy: Evolve, implement and maintain the Bank's CMS, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidance, Board-approved risk appetite and policies.
• UDAAP and Consumer Harm Transformation: Lead efforts to identify, assess, mitigate and prevent UD(A)AP and consumer harm risks across digital products and services.
• Regulatory Legal Inventory: Maintain comprehensive laws and regulations, monitor changes, and communicate impacts to management and the Board.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Oversee policies and procedures to ensure compliance with consumer protection, privacy, and other banking regulations.
• Monitoring, Testing and Control Inventory: Direct compliance testing and monitoring to identify control gaps and track remediation.
• Issues and Change Management: Oversee end-to-end lifecycle for compliance issues, ensuring clear management of changes.
• Third-Party Oversight: Develop controls to manage third-party providers, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Metrics & Reporting: Develop, maintain and report metrics that measure compliance risk and provide insights on significant findings.
• Compliance Advisory: Embed compliance in product, technology, marketing, operations, servicing and vendor onboarding.
• Culture & Training: Promote a strong compliance culture and lead the development of training programs.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive compliance leadership in U.S. banking.
• Expert knowledge of key banking regulations.
• Proven success in building and managing bank compliance programs.
• Excellent people leader and team builder.
• Bachelor's degree required; relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Pay Range
The targeted base salary for this position is $214,300 to $321,500 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
