We are currently seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor. The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for managing the loan application process from initial review through final approval. This role ensures all borrower documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with lending guidelines, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining timely communication with applicants and internal team members. The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a key role in helping borrowers navigate the mortgage process smoothly and efficiently. Start your application today! Compensation: $50,000 - $85,000 yearly Responsibilities: 1. Application Review & Data Verification • Review incoming mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy. • Verify borrower information such as income, employment, assets, credit history, and debt obligations. • Order and evaluate third-party documentation including credit reports, tax returns, bank statements, and verification of employment (VOE). 2. Documentation Management • Collect, organize, and maintain all required loan documents in compliance with company, investor, and regulatory guidelines. • Ensure all disclosures, signatures, and supporting documents are accurate and received in a timely manner. • Track missing items and follow up with applicants, loan officers, and other stakeholders. 3. Communication & Coordination • Serve as the primary contact for borrowers throughout the processing stage. • Communicate loan status updates clearly and promptly to borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and real estate agents. • Coordinate with title companies, appraisers, and insurance providers to obtain required reports. 4. Loan File Preparation • Prepare and submit complete, compliant loan files to underwriting. • Address any underwriting conditions quickly by gathering and submitting required documentation. • Ensure files meet investor, lender, and regulatory standards (e.g., TRID, FHA, VA, USDA guidelines as applicable). 5. Compliance & Quality Control • Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and internal lending regulations. • Review loan files for red flags, potential fraud, and inconsistencies. • Ensure accuracy of Loan Estimates (LEs) and Closing Disclosures (CDs). 6. Pipeline & Deadline Management • Manage a pipeline of active loans, prioritizing tasks to meet closing deadlines. • Monitor critical dates such as rate lock expirations, contingency deadlines, and closing schedules. • Resolve issues proactively to avoid delays. 7. Customer Service & Problem Resolution • Provide exceptional customer service by answering borrower questions and explaining documentation requirements. • Troubleshoot challenges that arise during the processing stage and escalate when necessary. Qualifications: Education & Experience • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred. • 3-5+ years of experience in mortgage processing, loan coordination, or related financial services role. • Experience with conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Non QM loans (as applicable to the employer). • Prior work in a fast-paced mortgage, banking, or lending environment strongly preferred. Technical Skills • Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS) such as Lending Pad, Encompass, Calyx, Byte, or similar. • Strong understanding of mortgage documents, including credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and title work. • Familiarity with TRID, RESPA, TILA, and other federal/state lending regulations. • Ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns, and asset documentation. • Skilled in Microsoft Office and general digital document management. Analytical & Organizational Skills • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and red flags. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple loans simultaneously. • Capable of prioritizing work to meet strict closing deadlines and rate-lock timelines. • High level of accuracy in reviewing documents and completing checklists. Communication & Interpersonal Skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work professionally with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, real estate agents, and third-party vendors. • Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain requirements clearly and calmly.
