About the Role: Manager, Social Media - Sports Talent + The Collective
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Manager, Social Media - Sports Talent + The Collective, to join our team on a full-time remote basis. As a key member of our social media team, you will play a crucial role in telling Wasserman's story across various social media platforms, with a particular focus on our Basketball, Soccer, and The Collective (our women-focused practice) divisions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in the sports, music, and entertainment industries and to be part of a team that is shaping the future of these sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for Wasserman's Basketball, Soccer, and The Collective divisions, working closely with agents, staff, and executives to support the company's vision and drive growth.
- Create engaging content for various social media channels, including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and more, and develop content plans and calendars to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
- Manage and maintain the social media presence of Wasserman's sub-brands, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with the overall brand strategy.
- Build and nurture a dedicated audience across each platform, leveraging your understanding of social media trends and online conversation to drive engagement and community growth.
- Develop and maintain social media guidelines and best practices for the company, ensuring that Wasserman's mission and brand are consistently represented across all social media channels.
- Collaborate with key staff, including agents and executives, to understand content requests and develop a content strategy that meets their needs and supports the company's overall goals.
- Create original visual content, including graphics and videos, in partnership with our dedicated graphic designers, and contribute to producing assets as needed.
- Facilitate community management across social channels, responding to direct messages and comments daily to nurture growing communities and inbound leads.
- Generate analytics reports on channel performance, share findings with internal teams, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize social media strategy.
- Work closely with the global communications department and a team of Social Media Managers to execute and uphold the overall Wasserman marketing and communications strategy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customer success teams at Meta, LinkedIn, and X to ensure the best service from these platforms and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of experience developing social media creative, editing copy, and engaging with online audiences.
- Flawless spelling and grammar, with a keen eye for detail and a highly organized approach to work.
- Expertise in the function and utilization of major social media platforms, including a mastery of in-app features and a demonstrated passion for staying on top of social media trends.
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a highly organized approach to work.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with social media management platforms and performance measurement tools.
- A basic understanding of sports, with a passion for basketball and soccer being a plus.
- The ability to build relationships internally and become a trusted resource.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- A passion for sports, music, and entertainment, with a particular interest in gender equity in these industries.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, CapCut, Canva, and other visual effects and video editing tools.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
