We're now seeking an experienced Clinical Support Worker to join our team in the Microbiology Laboratory at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
We're excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Support Worker (Higher Level) in Microbiology. This role is based at our state-of-the-art laboratory facility at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, where you'll play a critical part in delivering a comprehensive Microbiology service to the population of Greater Glasgow & Clyde. As a Clinical Support Worker, you'll be responsible for a range of duties, including the collection and preparation of materials and clinical specimens for analysis, registering patient-related information onto the Laboratory Information System, and providing assistance to Biomedical Scientists.

The Microbiology Laboratory at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, is a state-of-the-art facility that processes around 400,000 specimens per annum. The laboratory is equipped with extensive microbiology equipment, including Vitek-2, Vitek-MS, Virtuo Blood Culture system, WASP/WASPLab, and MGiT TB Analysers. While we can't disclose the exact salary for this role, we're committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the importance of this role. You'll also enjoy a range of benefits, including a reduction in working hours from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay.
