Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to high school students in math, science, social studies, and English
- Develop and implement innovative tutoring resources and curriculum materials to enhance student learning
- Monitor student progress and identify areas needing improvement
- Assist students with homework and prepare them for tests and exams
- Discuss students' challenges and develop strategies to overcome them
- Attend monthly grant team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in a related field (education, teaching, or subject area expertise)
- Three years of experience working with students in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish or other languages
- Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels
- Additional graduate-level education in a related field
