About the Role
As a Sr. Specialist, Immigration, you'll play a critical role in supporting the development, delivery, and administration of our US and Canada immigration programs. You'll work closely with our partner resources, recruiters, and business leaders to provide expert guidance on complex immigration matters, ensuring that we're able to attract and retain top talent from around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pre-offer immigration assessment process, working closely with talent acquisition and outside immigration counsel to ensure that we're making informed decisions about candidate eligibility.
- Collaborate with outside counsel and Partner Resources to manage and process immigration applications and petitions, ensuring timely and accurate filing and issue resolution.
- Respond to candidate and partner inquiries on immigration-related matters, analyzing complex issues, advising on potential risks and challenges, and resolving issues through stakeholder discussions.
- Liaise with outside counsel to interpret and apply immigration policies and procedures, ensuring that we're staying up-to-date with the latest developments and regulations.
- Lead regular training sessions with business partners, talent acquisition, and business groups, ensuring that we're building a knowledgeable and informed community around immigration best practices.
- Serve as the point of contact for USCIS audits and site visits, ensuring that we're prepared and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Lead the H-1B lottery process, working closely with immigration vendors, business partners, and partners to ensure that we're able to secure the necessary visas for our talent.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records, ensuring that we're able to track and manage immigration-related data effectively.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's and/or graduate degree in business or a related field, with a strong understanding of US immigration law and regulations.
- 2-3 years of experience in US immigration, with a comprehensive knowledge of processing nonimmigrant and immigrant cases (H-1B, L-1A/B, O-1, TN, E-3, F-1, I-140, AOS, etc.).
- A strong understanding of the employment-based green card process, with experience working with outside counsel and immigration vendors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface and influence with all levels of the organization.
- Strong multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- The ability to thrive in an ambiguous work environment, making sound decisions and navigating complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience working in a global company, with a understanding of the complexities of international talent acquisition and mobility.
- A certification in immigration law, such as the AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association) certification.
- Experience with immigration case management software and systems.
