Scientific Figure Illustrator for ML Research Paper We're a research team at the Center for AI Safety working on a machine learning publication. We're looking for a skilled illustrator to help design and polish 6-10 figures for the paper. What the work involves: Existing drafts in Adobe Illustrator need to be iterated on and brought to publication quality. The figures include conceptual diagrams, data visualizations, multi-panel layouts, and text-heavy showcase figures. Work includes cleaning up spacing and typography, ensuring consistent styling across all figures, and making layout decisions that communicate complex ML concepts clearly. What we're looking for: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (working with .ai/.svg files) Experience designing figures for academic papers or technical publications Some familiarity with ML/AI concepts - enough to make sensible design choices about how to visually represent things like optimization loops, model comparisons, and evaluation pipelines Ability to iterate quickly based on feedback Timeline: Short - we need to start immediately.
