Position Overview – Remote Program Associate, Global Education
The Remote Program Associate (PA) serves as a critical operational and analytical partner within R4D’s Global Education practice. Reporting to the Global Education Associate Director, the PA will support a portfolio of projects that span early childhood development (ECD), education technology (EdTech) initiatives, and cross‑cutting research collaborations. The role blends project coordination, research design, data analysis, and high‑quality communications to ensure that evidence is translated into actionable strategies for partner governments, NGOs, and private sector innovators.
While no prior professional experience is required, the ideal candidate brings a strong academic foundation, a passion for international development, and a willingness to learn quickly in a fast‑moving environment. You will gain hands‑on exposure to the full project lifecycle—from conceptual design and stakeholder engagement to data visualisation and knowledge dissemination.
Core Responsibilities
Project Management & Operational Support
- Assist in planning, tracking, and delivering project milestones across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with partner timelines and budget constraints.
- Coordinate virtual and in‑person meetings, workshops, and webinars, preparing agendas, briefing notes, and post‑meeting action items.
- Maintain project documentation, shared calendars, and repository systems (e.g., SharePoint, Google Drive) to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Support contract development, invoice processing, and procurement activities in partnership with the finance and legal teams.
- Facilitate onboarding of new consultants, interns, and staff members, providing orientation materials and logistical support.
Research, Data Collection, and Analysis
- Conduct literature reviews, desk research, and synthesis of policy documents related to ECD, curriculum reform, and EdTech adoption.
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, including interview guides, survey questionnaires, and observation protocols.
- Assist in coding, cleaning, and analysing datasets using Excel, SPSS, Stata, or other statistical software under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Develop visualisations (charts, infographics, dashboards) that translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
Communications & Knowledge Products
- Draft, edit, and format high‑impact deliverables such as policy briefs, concept notes, grant proposals, and technical reports.
- Produce persuasive presentation decks, webinars, and video scripts that showcase project achievements and lessons learned.
- Manage the Global Education practice’s knowledge hub—curating blog posts, newsletters, event calendars, and social media content.
- Collaborate with graphic designers (or use basic design tools) to create polished visual assets that enhance storytelling.
Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building
- Liaise with partner ministries, NGOs, and private‑sector collaborators to gather inputs, share updates, and coordinate joint activities.
- Support country‑level teams in facilitating coaching sessions, capacity‑building workshops, and peer‑learning exchanges.
- Monitor progress against deliverables, flagging risks and proposing mitigation strategies in consultation with senior staff.
- Contribute ideas for long‑term learning exchange designs, helping shape webinars, communities of practice, and knowledge‑sharing platforms.
Additional Duties
- Undertake ad‑hoc research, analysis, or administrative tasks as required to support the broader R4D mission.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Academic background: Bachelor’s degree in education, international development, public health, social sciences, or a closely related field.
- Relevant experience: 1–2 years of professional or internship experience in research, program coordination, or communications—preferably within an international development or education context.
