The Department of Conservation (DOC) is dedicated to protecting and restoring nature across Aotearoa. They are seeking a Project Coordinator to provide critical support for the Mobilising for Nature programme, assisting with project administration, stakeholder communication, and ensuring effective delivery of complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and administering contracts
- Pulling finance reports, tracking expenses, and paying invoices
- Collecting and entering data in spreadsheets and preparing data visualisations for different audiences
- Organising meetings, take minutes, and maintain decision register
- Keeping key programme administration materials up to date
- Assisting with report collation and creation
- Supporting the successful delivery of the programme within time, cost, and quality parameters
- Using procurement systems (SAP) data visualisation application (Power BI) and office software (MS suite)
Skills
- Proven project coordination experience
- High level of organisation and planning ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Problem solving, proactive, and flexible mindset
- Tech savvy; proficient in MS programs, and a quick learner of systems
- Effective communication skills and relationship building skills
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment
- Experience in finance or working with numbers such as for budgeting, expenses, Accounts Payable, invoices is highly advantageous
- Interest in marketing, public relations, and/or engagement
- Experience with SAP
- Comfort with ambiguity
