About The Role:
We are looking for a Pre-Sales Support Manager to support our growth in the Japan market. This role will act as the key technical and solution partner to the commercial team, helping enterprise retailers understand how OmniShelf’s AI-driven retail intelligence platform solves operational challenges across store execution, merchandising, and inventory visibility. This individual contributor role combines technical pre-sales, solution consulting, and customer enablement, working closely with the Sales Director and regional leadership to drive successful deal cycles and customer adoption in Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution & Demo Support
- Assist in preparing and delivering compelling product demonstrations and workshops for enterprise prospects.
- Support the creation of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and help translate technical features into clear business value (e.g., ROI on shelf optimization, loss prevention).
- Sales Enablement Assistance
- Support the development and localization of sales materials, demo scripts, and solution presentations tailored to the Japan market.
- Educate the commercial team on product capabilities, AI/ML functionality, and integration points (ERP, POS, supply chain systems).
- Assist in responding to technical questions, RFPs, and security questionnaires.
- Technical Scoping & Discovery Support
- Participate in technical and business process scoping calls to help uncover prospect needs and requirements.
- Document customer requirements and collaborate with the product team to address standard queries and custom requests.
- Pipeline & Opportunity Support
- Partner with the APAC sales team to qualify opportunities and prioritize high-value prospects in the Japanese retail sector.
- Support solution positioning across convenience stores, pharmacy chains, and other small-format retail segments.
- Address technical objections related to data security, deployment, scalability, and integrations.
- Customer Onboarding & Implementation Support
- Provide support during the handover from sales to delivery, ensuring clear understanding of client expectations.
- Assist with initial onboarding and implementation coordination where necessary.
- Maintain close communication with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Market Intelligence
- Gather and share insights on Japanese retail trends, technology adoption, and competitive landscape.
- Support the company’s go-to-market strategy for Japan by providing market feedback.
Requirements
Must Haves:
- Working Experience:
- 4 - 5 years of experience in B2B pre-sales support, sales engineering, or technical support roles, ideally within retail technology, AI Solutions, SaaS, or enterprise softwares.
- Prior experience working with FMCG/CPG brands or traditional retailers, with a solid grasp of retail operations such as planogram compliance, demand forecasting, pricing analysis, category management, merchandising, and POS systems.
- Technical Aptitude:
- Strong understanding of B2B SaaS products, with a genuine interest in technology.
- Experience supporting client onboarding or implementation is a plus.
- Sales & Business Acumen
- Proven ability to understand client business needs and link them to commercial opportunities.
- Works closely with respective country representatives and regional heads to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.
- Communication Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional internal teams.
- Language Proficiency: Native in Japanese and Full professional proficiency in English.
- Location Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work across regions to meet client and business needs within Japan (ideally in Tokyo).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Technology, or related field.
