About the Role
We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and resourceful Patient Support Coordinator to support our Medical Director and the Supportive Care Services team. This role helps deliver high-quality, patient-centered programs for oncology patients and caregivers while coordinating volunteer activities and key departmental initiatives.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, patients, families, and volunteers to ensure our supportive care services run smoothly and effectively. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Event Coordination
- Plan and execute patient-centered programs such as support groups, classes, and community events.
- Manage logistics, scheduling, materials, and day‑of event support.
Patient Resource Program Support
- Support patient services such as the wig boutique.
- Assist with workflow coordination and communication with clinical teams.
Volunteer Program Administration
- Recruit, onboard, and maintain documentation for volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and engagement initiatives.
Department & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with marketing, compliance, IT, and clinical teams to support departmental initiatives.
- Assist with vendor communication, invoices, service logistics, and administrative tasks.
Project & Process Management
- Manage multiple departmental projects independently.
- Maintain documentation, workflows, and processes for supportive care programs.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between Phoenix‑area locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in community programming.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Social Work.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Knowledge of diagnostic testing and cancer care is a plus.
- Demonstrated strong writing skills.
Work Environment
- Option to choose a home office at our Chandler/Scottsdale or Glendale clinic.
- This role requires a highly autonomous professional who can work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Light travel required to other Valley‑wide locations.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
