Elementary Math Tutor Needed (5th Grade – Fractions)
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and patient math tutor to support a 5th-grade student with elementary math, primarily focused on dividing fractions with whole numbers and general homework help.
This is an ongoing tutoring role, ideal for tutors who enjoy working with upper elementary students and reinforcing foundational math skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1–2 tutoring sessions per week
Help with homework completion and concept reinforcement
Explain math concepts clearly and age-appropriately
Encourage confidence and independent problem-solving
Student Level & Topics:
Grade level: 5th grade
Current topic: Dividing fractions with whole numbers
Support style: Homework help and guided practice
Schedule:
Preferred time window: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (EST)
Frequency: 1–2 sessions per week
Sessions conducted online (Zoom or Google Meet)
Requirements:
Experience tutoring elementary or middle school math
Strong understanding of fractions and foundational math concepts
Clear communication skills and a patient teaching style
Reliable internet connection and availability during stated hours
Nice to Have:
Prior online tutoring experience
Familiarity with U.S. elementary math standards
Experience working with students who need step-by-step explanations
