We're now seeking an experienced and dedicated Middle School Boys' Basketball Coach to join our Glen Crest Middle School team, specifically to lead our 8th Grade Basketball program.

About the Role: Middle School Boys' 8th Grade Basketball Coach

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our young athletes. As the Basketball Coach for our 8th Grade team, you'll be responsible for guiding the development of our students both on and off the court. Our ideal candidate is someone who not only understands the game of basketball but also possesses the skills to mentor, motivate, and inspire our team to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and coach the members of the Glen Crest Middle School 8th Grade Basketball team, focusing on skill development and teamwork.
• Coordinate the development and promotion of the Basketball program, working closely with the Principal and other stakeholders.
• Assess athletes' skills, providing constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
• Organize and schedule practice sessions and game times, ensuring effective communication with the Athletic Director, parents, athletes, and administrators.
• Teach life skills and develop character in our athletes, using basketball as a platform for personal growth.
• Perform administrative tasks, including ensuring all eligibility documents are completed and submitted.
• Hold meetings with parents/guardians and athletes to discuss team expectations, progress, and concerns.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury, prioritizing their safety and well-being.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A minimum of 1 year of verifiable age-equivalent Basketball coaching experience.
• A proven track record in age-appropriate skill and program development.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

We're looking for someone with a passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes. While not mandatory, additional qualifications such as a background in education or sports management can be beneficial.
