Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging art lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs
• Utilize technology to enhance the learning experience and promote student engagement
• Assess student performance and progress, providing constructive feedback to foster artistic growth
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and respect
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community
• Participate in staff development and professional growth activities to stay current with best practices in art education
• Perform other related duties, such as supervising students, managing classroom resources, and contributing to school events and activities

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• An Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Elementary Art Endorsement registered in Lake County
• A minimum SUB License registered in Lake County
• Considerable knowledge of art education principles, teaching methods, and curriculum design
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations and needs
• Proficiency in using technology to support instruction and student learning
• A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in teaching art to elementary students
• Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Response to Intervention (RtI)
• Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation
• Experience with classroom management and organization
