Job Overview

As an In-Home Design Consultant, you will be responsible for selling our interior products and services to customers in their homes, trade shows, and through virtual channels. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional customer service, assess customer needs, and offer tailored solutions that meet their requirements. You will travel to customers' homes to conduct sales calls, take measurements, and develop customized price quotes. You will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with store associates, educating them on our offerings, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' homes to conduct professional and compelling sales presentations, adapting quickly to changing customer needs and effectively advocating our interior design solutions.
• Conduct incidental activities necessary to complete sales, such as assessing customer needs, developing price quotes, and measuring product specifications.
• Presentation of warranty and available financing options to customers, preparing for appointments, commuting to/from appointments, and processing sales-related paperwork.
• Prospecting for new customers both inside and outside of assigned stores, participating in scheduled industry events, and proactively seeking out new referrals.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with store management and associates, attending sales and store team meetings to continually improve sales techniques and learn about our product offerings.

Direct Manager and Direct Reports

This position reports to a Sales Manager and has no direct reports. As an In-Home Design Consultant, you will be expected to work independently, using your exceptional communication and sales skills to drive results.

Travel Requirements

Typically, this role requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. You will need access to reliable transportation, and reimbursement for travel will be available as required by state and federal law.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Most of your time will be spent sitting in a comfortable position, with frequent opportunities to move about. On rare occasions, you may need to move or lift light articles. You will usually work in a comfortable environment, but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Must have a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Must have at least 3 years of work experience.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 3-5 years of prior in-home or virtual sales experience.
• Prior home improvement industry experience.
• Prior experience with successful lead generation.
• Computer and application skills, with the ability to use varied technology (email, iPad, apps, etc.).
