Job Summary

We're seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Acute Neuro Unit team in Muskegon, MI. As an RN on our team, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Our Acute Neuro Unit is a dynamic and collaborative environment where you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA/regulatory standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
• Act as a patient/family advocate, promoting patient-centered care and respecting patient autonomy.
• Perform point-of-care testing as required, and demonstrate a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior.
• Formulate decisions and actions based on ethical principles, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide practice.
• Assess patient and family educational needs, and employ appropriate teaching strategies to promote health literacy.
• Initiate patient discharge planning, and facilitate a smooth transition to the next point of service or home.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, and assume an autonomous leadership role in delegating tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Science in Nursing preferred.
• State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science in Nursing.
• Experience in acute neuro or med-surg nursing.
• Neuro-specific training or certification (e.g., CNRN).

Physical Demands and Work Environment
