Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Pharmacy Professional to join our team as a Walgreens Pharmacist in Florida. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy, and contributing to the growth and development of our business. Key Responsibilities
As a Walgreens Pharmacist, you'll be responsible for:
- Providing expert advice to customers on the effective use of medications, awareness of drug interactions, and delivery of healthcare services such as vaccinations.
- Ensuring proper compounding, dispensing, inspection, and verification of prescription drugs within regulatory guidelines, company policies, and procedures.
- Supporting efficient pharmacy workflow and assisting the pharmacy manager in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy finances, manage inventory, and improve customer experience.
- Developing strong relationships with most valuable customers by anticipating their needs and proactively offering services.
- Participating in community activities as requested by the store manager, healthcare manager, district director, or pharmacy manager.
- Advising patients and answering their questions about drug use, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy of patient information, generics, cheaper drugs, over-the-counter products, and providing medical referrals as needed to ensure proper use of the drug, health, and satisfaction of needs and satisfaction with services.
- Performing pharmaceutical duties including compounding, evaluating drug therapy, verifying and administering medications, monitoring, interpreting, and appropriately administering prescription medications as required due to workload.
- Ensuring the pharmacy operates in accordance with company rules, policies, and standards, and assists the pharmacy manager in implementing procedures that support efficient pharmacy workflow, including assigning roles, coordinating activities, and soliciting employee input.
- Responsible for opening and closing the pharmacy and changing tasks, ensuring application of all elements of the good faith dispensing policy in conjunction with state and federal controlled substance laws in regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining current knowledge of information technology related to pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, Registries, Automation, Storenet to provide support to customers and pharmacy staff.
- Proposing improvements and implementing improvements to pharmacy systems to further increase productivity.
- Ensuring proper processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues and avoid payment denials, following up with insurance companies and healthcare providers, and participating in third-party audits.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacist from an accredited educational institution.
- A current Pharmacist license in states within the district.
- Prescription dispensing experience demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the application of state and federal controlled substance laws.
- Certified Immunizer or willing to become an Immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, we're looking for candidates with:
- At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacist in a retail environment, including filling and verifying prescriptions, recordkeeping and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance.
