Blithequark is seeking highly skilled Data Scientists and Senior Data Scientists to join our Analytics group. As a Data Scientist at Blithequark, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by discovering insights and turning them into actionable recommendations. About the Role
As a Data Scientist at Blithequark, you will be responsible for using your quantitative skills to analyze large datasets and drive business decisions. You will work on a wide range of exciting challenges, including customer acquisition, fraud and support, marketing, balancing delivery and demand, new city launches, market efficiency, and more. You will use analytics to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform business decisions and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use quantitative analysis and data visualization to understand what drives our business and identify areas for improvement
- Build full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools
- Work with and mentor junior analysts on advanced techniques and problem-solving
- Produce recommendations and use statistical methods and hypothesis testing to validate findings
- Provide insights to help business and product leaders understand market dynamics, user behaviors, and long-term trends
- Identify and measure levers to drive key metrics and make recommendations
- Work backward from business problems to ideate solutions
- Report against our goals by identifying key metrics and building executive-facing dashboards to track progress
- Collaborate with engineering to implement, document, validate, and display our logging
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related role
- Experience working with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, regression models, etc.
- Expertise in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages, such as Matlab, R, SAS, or Python
- Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g., Chartio, Looker, Tableau)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ambiguous issues and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with large datasets and complex data systems
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and techniques
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
