You have mastered difficult problems. Now apply that expertise where it matters most: preparing gifted students to compete, qualify, and succeed.
GT School serves families seeking outcomes beyond "strong grades." We develop gifted learners through authentic challenges: national and international contests, public performance, and accomplishments that endure. This position exists because our mathematics program succeeds only when students emerge from each session more capable, more confident, and fully prepared for competitive conditions.
This is not a standard tutoring position. You will lead live virtual sessions designed to challenge exceptional students, deliver focused contest preparation for competitions such as AMC and AIME, and develop scalable resources that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT campus locations. If you excel at transforming potential into documented performance and can communicate sophisticated concepts with precision, this role will suit you.
If you possess a verifiable history of mathematical achievement and want to shape the next generation of competitors, we invite your application.
What You Will Be Doing
• Plan and conduct 2–4 live virtual domain sessions weekly that develop competition-standard mathematical reasoning
• Provide 1:1 or small-group coaching tailored to specific competitions through mock assessments, timed practice, and comprehensive feedback
• Identify weaknesses quickly and develop individualized growth plans aligned with each student's objectives and competition calendar
• Monitor student advancement using a structured math development model and refine teaching methods based on data
• Develop original, challenging problem collections and modular instructional content that other teachers can deploy at scale
What You Won’t Be Doing
• Conduct unfocused homework assistance or grade-focused tutoring lacking defined, trackable results
• Present conventional classroom instruction that ends at the standard academic syllabus
• Provide unstructured problem work without strategy, assessment cycles, or competitive pathways
• Rely on borrowed or low-standard materials that fail to meet competition mathematics benchmarks
Elite Math Coach Key Responsibilities
This role ensures that gifted students reliably produce measurable, competition-grade mathematical outcomes that GT School can recognize and families can depend on.
Basic Requirements
• Documented elite mathematical performance (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or equivalent verifiable achievement)
• Minimum 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrated results
• Capacity to communicate advanced mathematics in clear, accessible language to gifted young students
• Comprehensive knowledge of math competition structures, content, and preparation methods (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
• Effective virtual instruction skills and ability to maintain student engagement through video platforms
• Availability for 5–10 hours weekly
• Stable internet connection and professional-quality video equipment
Nice-to-have Requirements
• Current, ongoing participation as a competitor, coach, or creator of competition-oriented content
• Track record of creating reusable instructional libraries, problem collections, or curricula for broader instructor use
• Documented student achievements including qualifications, rankings, medals, or other formal competition recognition
