Drupal Migration & Configuration Specialist (Contract) Duration: 12 weeks (3 months) Type: Contract (Hourly) Location: Remote (U.S. preferred) Rate: $85/hour (commensurate with experience)   Overview We are seeking a Drupal Migration & Configuration Specialist to support a high-priority website migration from WordPress into a centrally managed university Drupal platform. This is a hands-on execution role focused on content migration, Drupal configuration, and template-based page assembly within an established enterprise environment. The work is structured, fast-paced, and deadline-driven, with a defined 12-week delivery timeline – estimating March 2026 through mid-June.   Project Scope · Migrate ~275 existing WordPress pages into Drupal · Configure and build ~125 new pages using pre-defined Drupal templates · Ensure full compliance with university standards (branding, accessibility, SEO) · Support QA, UAT, and launch readiness   Responsibilities Content Migration · Map WordPress content structures (fields, taxonomies, media) to Drupal · Execute automated and manual ("white-glove") migrations · Ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity · Documentation of migration activities Drupal Configuration & Page Build · Configure content types, fields, taxonomies, and views · Build pages using existing Drupal templates and components · Ensure consistent layout, formatting, and responsiveness Migration Execution · Support or implement migration scripts (Drupal Migrate API or equivalent) · Troubleshoot and validate migrated data · Handle complex or non-standard content manually when needed SEO & Redirects · Implement 301 redirects from WordPress to Drupal · Preserve metadata and URL integrity · Validate redirect accuracy and SEO continuity QA & Validation · Perform content and functional QA · Identify and resolve issues (links, formatting, media, layout) · Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Accessibility · Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards · Apply accessible content and markup practices Collaboration · Work within a university-managed Drupal environment · Coordinate with project lead, QA/accessibility, and SEO stakeholders · Follow established workflows, governance, and deployment processes   Required Qualifications · 3–6+ years of Drupal experience (Drupal 9/10 preferred) · Demonstrated experience migrating content from WordPress to Drupal · Strong understanding of: - Content types, taxonomies, fields, views - Structured content mapping and transformation · Experience with migration tools (Drupal Migrate API or similar) · Solid HTML/CSS knowledge for layout and debugging · Experience implementing redirects and preserving SEO during migrations · Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards   Preferred Qualifications · Experience working within enterprise or university Drupal platforms · Familiarity with Acquia, Pantheon, or similar hosting environments · Experience with content audits and governance workflows · Basic PHP/SQL for migration troubleshooting · Experience supporting QA and stakeholder review processes   What This Role Is Not · Not a design or UX role · Not a custom module development role · Not a junior content entry position   Success Criteria · Accurate migration of ~275 pages with no critical data loss · Successful configuration and launch of ~125 new pages · Full accessibility and QA compliance · SEO continuity via validated redirects · On-time delivery within the 12-week timeline   How to Apply Please provide: · Resume · Brief summary of relevant Drupal migration experience · Examples of WordPress to Drupal migration work · Availability for the 12-week engagement
