Haitian American Professional Women Alliance (HAPWA), Inc. is seeking a committed and detail-oriented professional to serve as Board Secretary. This volunteer leadership role is vital to ensuring strong governance, organizational transparency, and effective communication within the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the official custodian of Board records and documentation
Prepare, record, and maintain accurate minutes of Board and committee meetings
Ensure proper notice of meetings is issued in accordance with bylaws
Maintain and organize governance documents, resolutions, and official correspondence
Support compliance with organizational bylaws and nonprofit regulations
Assist with coordination of Board communications and administrative follow-up
Support promotion and sharing of organizational events and initiatives as directed
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and written communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential records
Familiarity with nonprofit governance or willingness to learn
Reliability, professionalism, and commitment to HAPWA’s mission
Ability to dedicate a few hours per month
