The California Air Resources Board is seeking an Air Resources Technician II to assist in technical, scientific, and administrative activities related to climate measures and air quality analyses. The incumbent will manage databases, conduct analyses, and interact with stakeholders to support the agency's health-protection mission.
Responsibilities
- Assist in technical, scientific, and administrative activities in implementing the Refrigerant Management Program (RMP), Small Container of Automotive Refrigerant Regulation, and SF6 regulation
- Manage and improve the facility registration database
- Conduct analyses and present summaries of the data
- Expand the outreach database by conducting web searches
- Contact trade associations and other state agencies
- Conduct surveys to facilities to obtain information on their RMP rule applicability
- Evaluate outreach effectiveness
- Review the completeness of RMP annual reports submitted by affected facilities and follow-up with non-compliant facilities
- Assist in the investigation of refrigerant emission complaints and potential rule violations
- Communicate verbally and in written and coordinate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders
- Draft briefing papers and present updates to peers and management
- Assist in reviewing annual reports for RMP, small can, and SF6 regulations
