The State of Oregon is seeking an Education Options Administrative Specialist to join the Oregon Department of Education's Director’s Office. This role provides administrative support for the School Choice, Options, and Recovery Education team, focusing on program implementation and coordination with various education partners across the state.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the SCORE team with an focus on public charter schools and alternative education programs
- Process virtual public charter school enrolment appeals
- Maintain and update program databases and program guidance
- Provide direct support to schools, districts, and families regarding SCORE programs
Skills
- Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data
- An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good oral and written communication skills, including drafting letters, legal documents, web content, and experience copy editing
- Experience using Excel and Smartsheet databases and spreadsheets to organize complex data
- Experience supporting innovative team structures to manage projects and reduce inefficiencies
- Experience organizing site visits and meetings with partner organizations involving travel
