Overview
The Wildfire Group is building a bench of experienced wildfire mitigation planning professionals for project-based consulting work supporting utilities, communities, and land managers.
This is not a full-time role. We are seeking independent consultants available for scoped engagements.
What You Will Do
• Lead or contribute to wildfire mitigation plans (CWPPs, utility WMPs, risk reduction plans)
• Develop risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and implementation roadmaps
• Review and strengthen existing mitigation plans
• Coordinate with GIS, modeling, and technical contributors as needed
• Deliver clear, defensible, regulator-ready documents
Required Experience
• 7+ years of applied wildfire mitigation or fire management experience
• Direct authorship or leadership on wildfire mitigation plans
• Experience working with utilities, counties, tribes, or agencies
• Ability to work independently as a contractor
Engagement Details
• Contract / freelance (1099)
• Project-based or milestone-based compensation
• Remote with limited meetings
• Flexible workload based on availability
Pay: $90.00 - $150.00 per hour
Work Location: Remote
