Subjects We Are Hiring For
• High school math (Algebra through AP Calculus BC, geometry)- you do not need to be able to do all of these)
• High school science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, AP sciences, you do not need to be able to do all sciences)
• Reading / dyslexia support(Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or similar structured literacy training preferred)
• ACT / SAT test preparation (experienced tutors with proven results)
Responsibilities
• Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs and course progression
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate clearly with students and families regarding progress and goals
• Use a Socratic-style teaching approach
(Please familiarize yourself with this method and be prepared to demonstrate it during the interview process)
Experience & Skills
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience strongly preferred
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and efficiently
• Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive teaching style
• Comfort working with students of varying abilities and learning profiles
Hours & Scheduling
• You set your availability and desired number of hours (as little as 3 or as much as 25+)
• Most sessions take place after school (generally 3:30pm CT or later) or on weekends
Compensation (based on experience & interview performance)
• College-aged tutors: $20–30/hr
• Newer tutors with a degree: $30–40/hr
• Experienced subject tutors: $40–65/hr
• Experienced ACT/SAT tutors (proven results, minimal training required): $50–80+/hr
• Executive functioning and dyslexia: Discussed based on experience and training
