Telephony/SIP Developer
Join a high-growth engineering team building global, high-performance communication software. We are looking for a backend expert to evolve our core telephony platform.
The Role
• 50-60% Coding: Build and maintain SIP-based services and real-time communication components.
• 15-25% Architecture: Collaborate on system design and new feature delivery.
• 20% Peer Review: Maintain high standards for code quality and performance.
• Tools & Tech: Primary development in Go (with some C++/Python) using Cursor.
What You’ll Do
• Design scalable, reliable backend services for our core telephony platform.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across networking and distributed systems.
• Write clean, documented code with robust automated testing (Unit, Integration, E2E).
• Own the signaling logic and infrastructure that powers worldwide communication.
Requirements
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Go or C++ skills: Must be willing to work in Go 90% of the time.
• Deep SIP Knowledge: Expert understanding of the SIP stack, headers, and call flows.
• Protocol Fluency: Hands-on experience with RTP/RTCP and UDP/TCP (beyond third-party abstractions).
• Core Telephony: Proven track record building/debugging telephony infrastructure.
• Logistics: Must be able to start by 10:00 AM EST and travel twice yearly for meetings.
