Job Title: Short-Term Django Developer (Dashboard & Google Auth) Organization: A Free Bird (nonprofit) Location: Remote Type: Paid Contract (1 Week) Compensation: Based on experience About A Free Bird A Free Bird is a nonprofit arts-education organization dedicated to helping children ages 4–18 affected by cancer fight their disease through access to artistic experiences, mentorship, and creative expression. Through programs like Dream Big, Take Flight, and Fly Free, we empower young artists with confidence, skills, and joy. Role Overview We’re seeking a skilled Django Developer to join our team for a short-term paid engagement (1 week) to build and enhance dashboards for our internal tools. This role will help improve how we track, visualize, and interact with key data on our website. You will work closely with our team to implement dashboard functionality within our existing Django project, configure user authentication using Google Sign-In, and ensure database integration is solid and maintainable. Key Responsibilities • Develop and integrate dashboards into our existing Django web application. • Implement and configure Google Authentication (OAuth 2.0) for secure user sign-in. • Work with relational databases (SQLite or other supported database engines). • Collaborate on backend logic, views, models, and templates as needed. • Ensure clean, documented, and testable code that meets project requirements. • Deliver functional updates within a fast-paced one-week timeframe. Required Qualifications • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Python and Django framework. • Experience building and maintaining dashboards or data-driven interfaces. • Familiarity with configuring Google authentication for Django. • Proficiency in working with Django ORM and databases (SQLite, PostgreSQL, etc.). • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and communicate with the team. Preferred (Bonus, but not Required) • Experience with frontend frameworks or data visualization tools. • Familiarity with deploying Django applications. • Passion for nonprofit missions and user-centric design.
