Lucky Rabbit is hiring a Ruby on Rails developer to support technology projects for the State of Maryland. This role focuses on building and maintaining applications that help state agencies deliver services more efficiently. You’ll join a small team that values clear communication, steady delivery, and thoughtful engineering.
The role is for a Workstream pod lead and will support building the claim application form, a data integration between the Rails application and Salesforce, and additional functionality to support the full life cycle of the worker experience. As this is a greenfield application, this work will establish foundational patterns for form flows, data integration, dashboards, and more.
Skills and Experience:
● Significant full stack Rails experience (5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails), really
invested in good object-oriented programming, and ready for strong, thoughtful PR
reviews.
● Significant experience building conventional, maintainable, well-tested, and extensible full-stack functionality in Ruby on Rails, in particular:
● Complex multi-page, multi-track form flows
● Data integrations
● User-friendly dashboards
● Data modeling and complex data validation
Pod Lead Skills and Experience
● Engineering project leadership experience - someone who is comfortable owning an epic of work, including breaking it into tasks and leading completion of those across multiple engineers
● Attends the pre-review for tickets going into refinement
● Capable of providing timely feedback and code reviews for other engineers within the pod.
● Can provide assistance and pairing availability to other pod engineers
● Provides assistance with onboarding new engineers
Responsibilities:
● Contribute to the full-stack development of accessible and maintainable features within the MD FAMLI application.
● Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers to refine requirements and deliver value for end-users.
● Contribute to code reviews and uphold code and maintainability standards
● Ensure alignment with business goals through strong technical judgment and
communication.
● Pod lead responsibilities as described above
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $97,724.64 - $117,689.89 per year
