Senior Project Manager, Renewable Energy
Location – Remote US
SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager is a newly created opportunity within a prominent fast‑growing renewable energy developer, project owner, and investment company. This full‑time opportunity will join a nationally recognized team and be responsible for working with multiple internal project teams to manage and shape the strategic direction of large scale, complex solar and BESS battery storage projects to meet essential metrics for safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. The Senior Project Manager is the primary point of contact for clients and other external stakeholders, while leading internal teams to execute the projects successfully. The Project Manager opportunity will offer a competitive compensation package comprised of a base salary in the $170,000 to $190,000 range, a 25% annual bonus target, excellent benefits, and strong career mobility potential within the company’s rapidly scaled growth track. This position will offer a fully remote work schedule however candidates must be able to travel domestically as needed.
Senior Project Manager – Job Description
• Lead PV (photovoltaic) and BESS (battery energy storage system) projects across the U.S. In collaboration with the project execution team, this role will shape the strategic direction of solar and battery storage initiatives, providing guidance to internal teams and third‑party consultants from late‑stage development to the operations and maintenance (O&M) handoff.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing project and construction management team(s).
• Manage and support contracting processes in collaboration with legal teams for project execution.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and close out high‑complexity turn‑key PV and BESS projects and portfolios.
• Act as a key point of contact for clear, accurate, and timely communications with clients, company’s management, and key stakeholders.
• Create and manage project budgets to ensure financial control and support cost reduction efforts.
• Develop and manage project schedules to track progress, identify and mitigate risks, accelerate timelines, and report accurate forecasts.
• Interpret contract agreements to ensure project teams meet all requirements while minimizing disputes.
• Coordinate design and permitting activities with the engineering team and local authorities.
• Manage procurement schedules and activities with the procurement team, including subcontracting and scope development.
• Coordinate construction activities, ensuring alignment with production targets, phasing, staging, and logistics. Ensure safety and quality compliance with company standards.
• Build and lead diverse project teams, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring deadlines are met. Provide mentoring and coaching when needed.
• Support the development of new opportunities, contributing to estimates, schedules, and contract reviews. Participate in client interviews as required.
• Lead initiatives to meet departmental and company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Senior Project Manager – Job Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in construction and project management, with demonstrated expertise in utility‑scale solar and BESS EPC projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of electrical, structural, and civil construction processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Strong decision‑making, planning, leadership, and communication skills, particularly in dynamic and high‑pressure environments.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction contracts and contract administration.
• Technical understanding of working with utilities and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
• Knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA 10 or 30 certification, NFPA 70E).
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, SharePoint, Box, or other project management software preferred, not required.
• Experience with medium or high‑voltage interconnections preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed within the US to project sites.
