Access is a global leader in information management solutions, and they are seeking a Sr. Electronic Health Record Data Analyst to lead a team of EHR Data Analysts. The role involves analyzing and migrating healthcare data while ensuring accuracy and compliance, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance products and services.
Responsibilities
• This is a hands-on position working with healthcare customer data to complete data migration, conversion, and archival projects. Customer satisfaction is a must
• Analyze healthcare data using common data analysis tools, ETL tools, and data visualization tools
• Be proficient with SQL (relational database), hierarchical database, CSV, HL7, CCDA formats for extraction, transformation, and import
• Have experience in one or more EHR like Athena health, Epic, Meditech, Cerner, Allscripts etc
• Be familiar with the terminology and standards in the healthcare industry, especially as it related to EHR, such as SNOMED, ICD-10, etc
• Have an excellent understanding of master data mapping between EHRs, including common industry coding systems
• Facilitate meetings with multiple internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, identify data conversion needs, provide ongoing updates, and ensure high customer satisfaction
• Will perform peer reviews on data conversion work, verify data integrity and identify data cleanliness issues and reconcile converted data to ensure accuracy
• Parse, validate and normalize healthcare messaging and document standards (SQL,HL7,CCDA/CDA), and ensure clinical data fidelity during conversions
• Perform reconciliation and validation between source and target/archive: row counts, checksums/hashes, key metrics, record sampling, and automated data quality tests. Document and triage data issues with stakeholders
• Support data governance: classify PHI, apply de-identification/masking when required, and ensure compliance with retention, privacy and audit requirements
• Develop and update technical and business process documentation for data conversions (internal and customer-facing)
• Partner with Product and Engineering organizations to continually evolve our products and services based on real-world experience
• Lead and participate in informal internal training as part of ongoing team improvement
• Be a champion of quality and performance for the team, positively encouraging growth of each member, coaching and mentoring

Skills
• 2+ years of experience of coaching and mentoring junior team members
• 5+ years of experience working with healthcare data
• 5+ years of experience working with EHRs/EMRs
• Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
• High technical proficiency with database concepts such as tables, fields, keys, indexes, normalization, etc., required
• Knowledge of data privacy (HIPAA), retention policies and best practices for archiving healthcare records
• Prior involvement in EHR/EMR conversions
• Experience working with the HL7 standard
• Familiarity with a variety of database types and interfaces (MS SQL Server, Oracle, various text formats, EDI, HL7)
• Direct experience in bridging the gap between end user requirements and technology solutions
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or similar field
• Advanced proficiency with relational databases, noSQL databases, and other data stores
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards: HL7, CCDA/CDA, CSV, hierarchical databases
• Data mapping and conversion expertise across EHRs
• Data reconciliation and validation techniques: row counts, checksums, hashes, record sampling, automated quality checks
• Experience with data governance practices, PHI classification, HIPAA compliance, and de-identification/masking
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology and industry standards
• Proficiency in handling structured and unstructured data across formats (SQL, Oracle, EDI, text files)
• Strong documentation skills for technical and business processes
• Healthcare-related certification(s): CDIP, RHIA/RHIT, Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or equivalent — helpful but not required
