The Oracle Developer role involves supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Oracle-based components, optimizing PL/SQL packages, and integrating Oracle data with various platforms to ensure high-quality solutions that align with LGY’s mission.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and performance-optimized queries supporting LGY business functions
• Analyze and refactor legacy Oracle code to improve quality, reduce technical debt, and support modernization patterns
• Build and maintain data integrations between Oracle components and Salesforce, AWS, APIs, and microservices
• Support ETL development, data migration, and transformation routines for legacy-to-modern platform transitions
• Participate in solution design discussions, providing insight into Oracle schema structure, performance considerations, and data flow
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and prepare remediation scripts following VA change control processes
• Produce technical documentation including schema diagrams, data flow mappings, and design specifications
• Support automated testing and CI/CD activities by writing testable code and participating in code reviews
• Collaborate with Operations, Security, and Product teams to ensure compliance with VA requirements, ATO standards, and secure coding practices
• Attend daily standups to report progress, blockers, and risks
• Create high-quality deliverables with guidance from team leads and align with LGY DevSecOps practices
• Maintain positive relationships with client stakeholders and delivery team members
Skills
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience
• An additional 2 years of experience with an Associate's Degree
• An additional 4 years of experience with a high school diploma
• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development, including performance tuning and query optimization
• Strong understanding of Oracle 12c+ features, database design, and data modeling
• Experience integrating Oracle data with cloud or API-based systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to shift priorities quickly in fast-paced delivery environments
• Demonstrates leadership in the face of ambiguity and drives work to completion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Existing Public Trust clearance at the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal agency
• Experience supporting federal mortgage or loan systems, including VA LGY, FHA, USDA, or lender/servicer platforms
• Experience with AWS or Salesforce data integrations
• Proficiency with SQL tools, data modeling tools, and ETL frameworks
• Experience using ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
• Familiarity with secure coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps environments
