Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced North Carolina Paralegal to assist with a growing caseload in estate planning, probate administration, and Medicaid planning. This is a 100% remote position with flexible hours (approx. 10–20 hours/week). We are open to either a 1099 contract arrangement or a part-time W-2 role depending on the candidate's preference and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Estate Planning: Assist attorney in drafting North Carolina-specific Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, POAs, Healthcare Directives, and deeds.
• Estate Administration: Coordinate with clients and prepare and file NC probate documents, including Applications for Letters, Inventories and Annual/Final Accounts.
• Elder Law: Assist with the preparation and filing of North Carolina Long-Term Care Medicaid applications, including asset verification and spend-down tracking.
• Coordination: Communicate with NC Clerk of Superior Court offices
Required Qualifications:
• NC Residency/Expertise: Must have deep, demonstrable experience with North Carolina estate administration and estate planning.
• Probate Mastery: Proficiency with the NC AOC forms and electronic filing systems.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Word based document automation tools (e.g., Doxsera, Clio, HotDocs) and Microsoft Excel.
• Certification: NC State Bar Certified Paralegal (NCCP) status is highly preferred.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
