They are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer to transform complex federal housing topics into engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop entry-level courses on federal housing topics
- Research industry trends and identify gaps to keep content relevant and impactful
- Write clear, compelling training content that captures and retains learner attention
- Design engaging learning materials, including: E-learning courses and webinars, Instructor-led training (ILT) materials, Course outlines, facilitator guides, and participant guides, Storyboards, graphics, and presentations
- Create and edit instructional videos (scriptwriting, recording, and editing)
- Update and enhance existing curricula, manuals, and training tools
- Ensure all content complies with copyright, data protection, and accessibility standards (Section 508 knowledge is a plus)
- Support LMS administration (user management, uploads, assessments, etc.)
- Collaborate with teammates to meet project timelines and deliverables
- Contribute to documentation, design, and marketing-related tasks as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or a related field OR a relevant certification (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Certified Professional)
- Strong writing and communication skills, including technical writing
- Ability to organize complex information into clear, effective learning experiences
- Understanding of instructional design principles, curriculum development, and training evaluation methods
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong prioritization and adaptability skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in both remote and in-office environments
- Reliable high-speed internet for remote work
- Experience developing e-learning courses (Articulate Storyline is a plus)
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Video creation/editing experience (Camtasia or Adobe Premiere)
- Experience creating storyboards, scripts, and visual learning assets
