About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Home Delivery Pharmacy Technician, working remotely from Illinois or Iowa. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of prescriptions, interacting with members and patients, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Process prescription requests, including entry, billing, and submittal of customer orders to fulfillment for delivery
- Assist with operations support, training, and process improvements to drive team efficiency and effectiveness
- Contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and team content to ensure best practices
- Create and route pharmacy orders through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Handle inbound and outbound member/patient calls, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues
- Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, and submit prescription orders in our computer system
- Contact members/patients/providers to validate data, request payment information, and establish priority of order or delivery details
- Apply knowledge and skills to a range of moderately complex activities, demonstrating great depth of knowledge in own function
- Act as a technical resource to others in own function, providing guidance and support as needed
- Proactively identify solutions to non-standard requests, solving moderately complex problems on own
- Work with team to solve complex problems, collaborating to achieve shared goals
- Plan, prioritize, organize, and complete work to meet established objectives, ensuring productivity and efficiency
- Provide an exceptional customer experience with every interaction, demonstrating a holistic approach to case management
Essential Qualifications
- Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (ExCPT or PTCB) or ability to obtain prior to start date
- 1 year of experience working in a retail pharmacy, demonstrating a strong understanding of pharmacy operations
- Reside in Illinois or Iowa, with the ability to telecommute*
- 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of healthcare operations and principles
- Call-center or telephonic work experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy, ensuring a safe and productive work environment
