Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Milliman is a leading consulting firm specializing in healthcare financing and delivery. They are seeking a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)/Information Security Intern to support GRC efforts and enhance security posture while gaining hands-on experience in security frameworks and audits.
Responsibilities
• Assist in security related audits and other security compliance initiatives
• Support risk assessments, third-party vendor reviews, policy creation and internal security audits
• Help develop, update, and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
• Monitor compliance with security controls and assist with remediation efforts
• Research and track regulatory changes impacting information security and privacy
• Work with security teams to improve various tasks that are outlined
Skills
• Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Law, Computer Science or related degree
• Interest in compliance, privacy, governance, and security
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Fundamental familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Basic experience with risk assessments, policies, and/or general audits
• Good academic standing
• Previous internship or relevant work experience
• Leadership experience and involvement in extra-curricular activities
• A detail-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit inspired to contribute to the success of any project
• Can complete project deliverables, meet deadlines, and ensure compliance with quality procedures
• Strong time management skills
