[Remote] Application Analyst, Application Management

Pepperdine University is seeking an Application Analyst to implement, maintain, and support software applications that enhance University business processes. The role involves conducting needs analysis, managing projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve user experience and operational success. Responsibilities - Implements and supports major custom and third-party applications for the University including planning, analysis, design, data modeling, implementation, testing, training, documentation, and maintenance - Conducts needs analysis with constituents to identify opportunities for application improvements or new projects - Reviews application support requests (in-person, email, support ticket, etc.) and other metrics to measure user satisfaction, assist in root cause analysis, and identify solutions and/or enhancements to improve the user experience - Evaluates design/development trends, new/emerging technologies, and other application solutions for consideration within IT or the University - Takes ownership of assigned projects and plays a proactive role toward the goal of project completion from start to finish - Estimates time and resources required for tasks and projects - Reports status of current projects on a regular basis to supervisor, leadership, and/or stakeholders - Uses project management software to track, monitor, and measure all projects - Represents Pepperdine and IT in a professional manner when collaborating with internal and external stakeholders - Develops and maintains strong partnerships with campus personnel and departments, as well as with external vendors and service providers, to assure current and future operational success - Reviews and submits regular, timely, and complete paperwork and processes, such as status reports, bi-weekly or monthly timesheets, assessments for mid-year and annual reviews, and other routine IT and University practices - Provides backup support and assistance to other team members - Collaborates with co-workers and University colleagues on departmental, division-wide, and institutional projects - Shares process information and makes informal recommendations on how to improve processes and overall job execution within the team/department - Attends training sessions, vendor presentations, user group meetings, conferences, and seminars - Engages regularly in individual professional development related activities to remain current with industry technology trends and work processes - Volunteers to undertake tasks that stretch the employee's capabilities - Serves on various committees within the Information Technology division - Participates in external University committees - Perform other related duties as assigned Skills - Bachelor's degree in information systems or computer science, specialized training, certification, or equivalent work experience - One (1) or more years of systems administration/analysis experience; and knowledge of distributed systems architecture, middleware, or object-oriented analysis and design - Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic hardware and software products - Demonstrates problem solving/troubleshooting skills - Advanced knowledge of working with computers and applications in a networked environment - Project management experience or familiarity - Experience working with vendors to procure, implement, and support applications - Experience troubleshooting and resolving application-related issues - Hands-on experience managing and maintaining applications in a production environment - Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL), programming languages, and testing methodologies Benefits - A robust and highly competitive benefits package Company Overview - Pepperdine University is a Christian university committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values.
