An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with telemetry experience to support multiple medical-surgical units within a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. This contract position offers a dynamic float pool role, providing diverse patient care across various specialties in a well-equipped hospital setting.

Responsibilities:
• Float to different medical-surgical units including General Surgical, Cardiac Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedics, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical Surge Unit, and ED Holding areas.
• Provide direct patient care with focus on telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, drain management, and wound care.
• Manage complex patient needs including cardiac post-catheterization care, stroke and neuro cases, oncology, post-surgical orthopedic care, and medical patients in holding.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver quality care.
• Utilize electronic charting systems (preferably EPIC), Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication machines for efficient patient management.
• Maintain compliance with patient ratios and float within the scope of professional practice.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
• Active RN license with at least 1 year of med/surg or telemetry nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required.
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, central line care, NGT placement, drain management, wound care, and telemetry skills.
• Ability to float flexibly across multiple units and adapt to varied patient populations.
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health records preferred.
Schedule / Hours:
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation
• Holiday coverage approximately every other holiday based on start date
• Six-week scheduling cycles with advance notice
