Privacy/Cyber Attorney [9 Month Contract, Remote]

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy/Cyber Attorney for a remote, 9-month contract position in the United States to support a leading Defense Manufacturing company. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week, focusing on providing legal expertise and support to our privacy and cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and manage cyber risk effectively. • *Scope of Work** • *Title:** Privacy/Cyber Attorney (contract) • *Experience:** 7+ Years • *Location:** Remote (United States) • *Hours:** 40 Hours / Week • *Technology:** OneTrust Privacy Management • *Duration:** 9 Months • *Pay Rate:** $110 - $125 / hr • *Responsibilities** • Conduct contract and purchase order redline reviews, emphasizing cyber and privacy language. • Perform Privacy Risk Assessments to identify and mitigate potential privacy issues. • Lead Privacy Self Assessments in collaboration with business units to ensure regulatory compliance. • Manage data and cyber incident responses, ensuring timely and effective resolution. • Conduct Transfer Impact Assessments to evaluate cross-border data transfer risks. • *Qualifications** • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state. • Proven experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, with a strong understanding of current regulations. • Ability to review and draft complex legal documents with a focus on privacy and cybersecurity provisions. • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Preferred experience with government contracts, limited cybersecurity experience, and familiarity with global privacy regulations, specifically GDPR, Germany and UK Privacy Law, and Australian Privacy Laws. • ---------- • Legal.io is committed to the principle of equal opportunity.
