Position Summary
The Principal Solutions Architect – Transportation & Logistics (Pre‑Sales) serves as the technical strategist and solution designer for enterprise transportation customers. This role partners with Solutions, Product, Implementations, and Integrations to architect scalable solutions, win deals, and ensure delivery. Strong transportation background required; customer solutions architect experience a plus. 50% travel is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Pre‑Sales Solution Architecture
o Act as technical lead in enterprise deal cycles, joining the Deal Team starting at the solution stage of the sales process
o Lead discovery sessions, process assessments, and requirements mapping with documentation to guide implementation
o Architect solutions across TMS and multimodal workflows aligned to customer needs and goals, and company technical capabilities and features
o Solution the integration approach between customer systems and company systems, aligning available integration methods with the customer system architecture, and customer goals
o Build integration SOWs that align to the documented technical solution and reflect the detail necessary to define scope and plan for implementation
o Deliver demos, presentations, PoCs, and ROI models
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Partner with Solutions, Product, Implementations, and Integrations teams from pre-sale to post-sale, supporting the transition to implementation and integration
o Inform feature and integration capability priorities
o Align architectures with engineering capabilities and roadmaps
o Support high‑level designs and feasibility assessments early in sales cycles
• Integration & Technical Depth
o Drive strategic initiatives to expand integration strategies and capabilities with customer systems, with the goal of making integrations easier for our customers and increasing the number of integrations
o Define data flows and ensure compatibility with internal platforms
o Identify integration risks and propose mitigation patterns
• Industry Expertise & Innovation
o Advise customers on transportation best practices and optimization
o Stay current on logistics innovation and emerging tech
o Develop reusable architecture patterns and documentation
Minimum Experience
• 8–12+ years in transportation, supply chain technology, or solution architecture
• Experience in pre‑sales or enterprise technical consulting
• Expertise with TMS, multimodal freight, optimization, and shipping workflows
• Hands‑on experience with integrations (APIs, EDI, ERP/WMS/TMS)
