PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – REMOTE
Pay Rate: $16.55/hr

Program Type: RAMP – Clinical Commercial Attrition
Start Type: Class with set start date
SCHEDULE
• Assigned Shifts: Vary between 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM CT, 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday
• Training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CT (6 weeks)
• * Camera required throughout training
• Mandatory overtime may be required
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Technician provides professional phone support to members, providers, and other callers as part of a criteria-based prior authorization process.
This role is responsible for accurate documentation of approvals and denials and for escalating all clinical questions and judgment calls to a licensed pharmacist.
The position is non-patient-facing and fully remote.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handle high-volume incoming calls from members, providers, and other stakeholders
• Provide professional customer service support related to prior authorization requests
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of approvals and denials
• Transfer all clinical questions and judgment-based decisions to the pharmacist
• Utilize MS Teams, Outlook, and other internal systems to document and communicate effectively
• Adhere to established procedures, timelines, and quality standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an administrative or support function
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a high-volume call center
• * Healthcare, social services, or similar environments preferred
• Comfortable using the full Microsoft Office Suite
• * MS Teams and Outlook required; Word and Excel helpful
• Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
• Excellent written and verbal customer service skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Pharmacy Technician certification (state or national) preferred but not required
• Pharm Tech Trainee license will be considered
