In-Office Processor / Phlebotomist - PRN

Summary The In-Office Processor / Phlebotomist will follow instructions for the proper handling of all specimen types.  He/she will process the samples for transport to the laboratory in a timely manner. This role will provide assistance to our clients in the Mobile, AL area.  Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Must follow all Specimen Processor Agreement directives. - Will properly identify specimens. - Will follow instructions to correctly fill out requisition form. - Will make sure that specimens are shipped to the laboratory in a timely fashion. - Communicate to the IOP Manager for any issues related to time & attendance or operational questions within the client location. - Be friendly, and courteous to office staff. ·         Maintain a safe work environment for his or herself and the patients by following all safety precautions outlined in the Procedure Manual, which includes wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). - Will properly label specimens. Correctly and completely fill out requisition forms with the required information. - Keep work area clean and organized at all times. - Must be able to adapt to working in clinic environments that vary in size, structure, and specialty. - Must follow the Compass Laboratory Services Phlebotomy Procedure Manual instructions for the proper collection of blood samples by venipuncture. ·         Be friendly, courteous, and sympathetic when working with patients. ·         Must follow all Procedure Manual directives. ·         Will greet and properly identify patients and verify test orders. ·         Will follow instructions to correctly perform venipunctures, while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. ·         Will properly label, centrifuge when needed, aliquot, store, and transport all samples according to the Procedure Manual. Verify all requisition forms are completed with the required information. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This role works in a physician’s office, as a Compass employee, processing specimens to be sent to the laboratory. Position Type This can be a full-time or part-time position.
