About the Role
We are a growth-focused consultancy working with modern e-commerce and DTC brands. A core part of our work is building forward-looking financial models that help founders and operators make better decisions across marketing spend, pricing, inventory, and cash flow.
We are looking for a hands-on Financial Analyst who can build, maintain, and iterate on financial forecasting models for e-commerce businesses. This is not a bookkeeping role. This is not a tax role. This is a model-building, scenario-running, decision-support role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will be responsible for building and maintaining financial models that include:
- Revenue forecasting (by channel where possible)
- Marketing efficiency modeling (MER, blended CAC, contribution margin)
- COGS, gross margin, and variable cost modeling
- Contribution margin and cash flow forecasting
- Scenario modeling (best / base / downside cases)
- Sensitivity analysis around paid media performance
- Inventory and working capital implications (when relevant)
- Models will primarily be built in Excel and/or Google Sheets and used internally and with clients to guide strategic decisions.
What We’re Looking For (REQUIRED)
- 5+ years experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or financial modeling
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (clean structure, formulas, logic)
- Experience working with e-commerce, DTC, SaaS, or performance-driven businesses
- Comfort working with incomplete data and making reasonable assumptions
- Strong written English and ability to explain financial outputs clearly
Strong Plus
- Experience with performance marketing metrics (CAC, MER, ROAS)
- Background in consulting, advisory, or agency environments
- Big 4, corporate finance, or strategic finance experience
- Experience supporting founders, operators, or growth teams
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT To be very clear, this role is not:
- Bookkeeping
- Tax preparation
- Pure accounting or compliance work
- Passive review-only advisory
We need someone who builds models, not just comments on them.
Engagement Details
- Remote
- Contract / freelance to start 5–15 hours per week initially, with potential to expand
- Long-term relationship preferred
- Opportunity to grow into a lead or review role as volume increases
How to Apply
Please include:
- A short description of your experience with financial modeling
- Industries you’ve worked in (especially e-commerce or DTC)
- Your hourly rate
- (Optional but encouraged) A brief description of a forecasting or financial model you’ve built
