About the Role
We're seeking an energetic leader with a design background, a fantastic ability for executive-level storytelling through data analysis and insights, and a deep understanding of business intelligence to seek valuable opportunities to grow revenue. As Retail Store Analytics Director, you will play a critical role in driving the future direction of our Retail stores by rethinking how we apply data, AI, and insights to understand our business, drive performance, and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a future-forward retail analytics strategy to support deep business insights and data-driven decisions across the organization
- Identify key performance indicators and outline benchmarks to measure store performance, customer behavior, and sales trends
- Build and maintain predictive models and forecasting tools to anticipate demand and optimize store operations
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor performance, and industry benchmarks to provide insights and recommendations for improving performance and experience
- Stay up-to-date with emerging retail analytics tools, technologies, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Influence colleagues and decisions through a deep understanding of Apple's business and practices
- Build capabilities of individuals and team culture through effective employee development, engagement, communication, and education
- Effectively collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree or possibly a Graduate degree in a relevant field (MBA or higher) or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in Data Analysis/Business Insight or similar experience
- 4+ years of individual leadership experience
- Some travel is required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gain meaningful insights from complex datasets, and drive business strategies and dynamics through collaboration across the organization
- Deep knowledge of AI, statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and data modeling methods, and their application to the Retail business
- Passion for data visualization and information design, and experience with tools like Tableau
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex analysis and data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including extensive experience presenting to executive groups and leaders
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in a retail environment, with a deep understanding of retail operations and customer behavior
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in retail analytics, such as machine learning and natural language processing
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
