About the Role and Your Impact
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Freeport, TX. As a Senior Plant Maintenance Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing essential engineering support to address immediate plant issues impacting production. You will deliver equipment-based solutions and repair techniques to improve the facility's availability and maintainability, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations, providing technical guidance and support to plant personnel.
- Develop and maintain maintenance operating disciplines, ensuring that our maintenance practices are aligned with industry best practices and our company's standards.
- Offer technical support to plant personnel for troubleshooting and repairs, providing equipment-specific training and guidance as needed.
- Ensure engineering input is included in work requests for repair strategies, guaranteeing that our maintenance activities are well-planned and executed.
- Document and share repair techniques and equipment-specific training, contributing to the development of our maintenance knowledge base and expertise.
- Provide maintainability input to Global Project Methodology activities, ensuring that our projects are designed and executed with maintainability in mind.
- Support the preventive maintenance coordinator in reviewing spare parts lists, ensuring that we have the necessary parts and materials to maintain our equipment.
- Enter quality and performance data into the reporting system, providing insights and metrics to inform our maintenance decisions.
- Participate in maintenance budget development to support the strategy, ensuring that our maintenance activities are properly funded and aligned with our business objectives.
- Offer engineering input for work packages and turnaround projects, providing technical guidance and support to ensure that our projects are well-planned and executed.
- Provide equipment reliability and performance data to technical networks, contributing to the development of our equipment reliability and performance metrics.
- Complete all required EH&S training and exhibit safe work behaviors, ensuring that you and your colleagues work in a safe and healthy environment.
- Support Industrial Hygiene and other EH&S activities, contributing to the development and implementation of our environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Use maintenance spending and reliability metrics to identify improvements, providing insights and recommendations to optimize our maintenance activities.
- Initiate and implement reliability-related changes in coordination with leadership, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our maintenance practices.
- Understand and apply Long Term Cost of Ownership principles, ensuring that our maintenance decisions are informed by a deep understanding of the total cost of ownership of our equipment and assets.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant military experience (U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class/Sergeant ranking).
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing experience, with a strong background in equipment reliability and performance optimization.
- Ability to work safely at elevated heights, with necessary training provided, and a commitment to working in a safe and healthy environment.
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a TWIC card, and legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in engineering or a related field, with a strong background in equipment reliability and performance optimization.
- Professional certifications, such as CMRP or PE, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field of maintenance and engineering.
