Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk to join our team. As an Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, you will be responsible for selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders, assembling and processing orders, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Select and gather products for customers' online orders in an efficient and accurate manner, ensuring attention to freshness and quality.
- Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to cars when customers arrive at the store for pick-up.
- Provide a positive customer service experience that makes customers want to return to online shopping, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Communicate with customers via a portable phone and respond to calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Retrieve each customer's order from all staging locations and ensure order accuracy, loading orders into customers' cars.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment, reporting any discrepancies or issues to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
- Process orders through the point of sale (POS) system, following policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions in the event of an out-of-stock.
- Assist in training new e-Commerce team members and meet/exceed productivity standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Ability to work without supervision and read shelf tags.
- Basic math skills (i.e., counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Desired Qualifications
- Any experience as a personal shopper or in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or experience as a cashier.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or a related field.
- Knowledge of grocery products, including produce, meat, dairy, and dry goods.
- Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately select and assemble orders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a point of sale (POS) system.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
