Position Summary
We're seeking a bright, passionate, and dedicated Math Tutor to create an engaging and productive learning experience for students in our San Diego County locations. As a Math Tutor, you'll work with students of varying skill levels, providing individualized instruction in a group setting using our proprietary Mathnasium Method. This is a part-time role with 4-5 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, between 2 PM and 7 PM. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs and learning styles.
- Participate in positive interactions with parents, establishing a high level of confidence and program value.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes, using our proprietary software to deliver instruction.
- Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions, working collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience.
- Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment, adhering to our high standards.
- Assist with non-teaching and instructional tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute.
Essential Qualifications:
- A passion for math and working with students, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I, with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and team members.
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks, prioritizing responsibilities and managing your time effectively.
- Willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method, demonstrating a commitment to our approach and values.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in education or tutoring, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with educational software and technology, with a willingness to learn new systems.
