About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Industrial Designer II to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and creative solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers. This is a remote position that offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about design and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical skill, knowledge, and judgment to ensure designs meet the customer's specific needs
• Provide technical input and support in the advancement of materials and design development
• Design returnable packaging dunnage utilizing SolidWorks/Inventor software
• Perform "Design for Manufacturing" and standard check doc process as required
• Manage multiple projects effectively while communicating regularly to stakeholders and meeting project timing commitments
• Support the activities necessary to meet or exceed the financial objectives of both sales growth and profitability for this offering
• Support the execution and continuous improvement of the quality policy and procedures as appropriate
• Ensure project requirements are clear, customer needs are met, and vetting projects as needed when information is vague or not available
• Ensure ISO compliance and adherence to all processes within the group
• Design products per ORBIS standards and guidelines

Essential Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with multiple departments
• Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong time management skills
• Creativity, focus, desire, motivation, open-mindedness, and a team-oriented approach
• Ability to handle the stress of working with others and lead by example
• Availability outside of normal business hours and willingness to travel up to 5% to other ORBIS locations and customer locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in packaging design and development
• Knowledge of SolidWorks/Inventor software and design principles
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
