Job Summary
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our team as Full-Time Tutor Advisors. As a Tutor Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing instructional support services to students who require academic intervention. You will work closely with certified teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans, provide one-on-one tutoring, and assist with classroom management. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to students who require academic intervention, scheduled at times when they would not receive instruction from a teacher
- Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment
- Compile and maintain accurate student records, including attendance, testing results, progress, and achievement
- Provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors
- Conduct parent involvement activities, including contacting parents/legal guardians by telephone, in writing, and/or home visits to encourage their active participation in their child's education
- Coordinate parent/family school functions at the school site and attend meetings and parent conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students/parents and instructors/school administration
- Provide support in a library or media center and assist with preparing items for the program newsletter, school announcements, and bulletins
- Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate progress monitoring data
- Perform other duties as assigned by the certified teacher or school administration
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an associate's degree or met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff and to function effectively as a team member
- Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students after the teacher prepares the lesson and plans the instructional support activities
- Ability to test and identify and keep accurate records on new and existing students
- Demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills
- Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Experience working with students with special needs or English language learners
- Familiarity with educational software and technology
- Previous experience as a tutor or instructional assistant
